(1937): Singing cowboy deputy Gene Autry and his sidekick Frog must track down a modern gang of cattle rustlers who are using airplanes, shortwave radios, and refrigerated trucks to steal livestock. When the local newspaper editor demands "modern" big-city detectives take over, Gene uses his "old-fashioned" Western ingenuity to prove his methods are still the best.
