Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years of age to use SilverScrin. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement and that you are not prohibited from using the Service under any applicable law.

To access member features, you must register for an account using a valid email address and a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update that information to keep it accurate. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.

You may not share your account credentials with others or allow multiple people to use a single account. Each subscription is for individual use only.

SilverScrin offers a monthly subscription at $5.99 per month. Your subscription begins on the date you complete checkout and renews automatically each month until cancelled.

Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis. All fees are stated in US dollars and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to the Service until that date.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

All films available on SilverScrin are sourced from the public domain via the Internet Archive (archive.org) and are believed to be free of copyright restrictions in the United States. We make no warranties regarding the copyright status of any film in jurisdictions outside the United States.

The SilverScrin name, logo, website design, and all original written content are the intellectual property of SilverScrin and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without our prior written consent.

You may stream films for personal, non-commercial viewing only. You may not download, record, redistribute, or publicly screen any content from the Service without our express written permission.

You agree not to use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations, infringes the rights of others, or is harmful, fraudulent, or deceptive.

You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure, or use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or index the Service without our written consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SilverScrin shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

The Service relies on third-party providers including Stripe (payments) and the Internet Archive (film hosting). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of any third-party service. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only and do not constitute an endorsement.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any prepaid subscription fees for the unused portion of your current billing period.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
